Meet the Hosts – Part 1: Wes Iseli, Magician, Illusionist, and Host of MagicLife

For more than 30 years, Wes Iseli has made a living doing what many people only dream about: performing magic, traveling the country, entertaining audiences, and sharing his love of the art with the world. But behind the illusions, television appearances, and thousands of performances is a lifelong passion for magic and the people who make it happen.

Welcome to Part 1 of our Meet the Hosts series, where we're taking you behind the scenes of Wes Iseli's MagicLife Podcast to introduce the people behind the microphones.

And where better to start than with Wes himself?

A Lifelong Love of Magic

Wes Iseli's fascination with magic began when he was around seven years old, after witnessing a simple coin-behind-the-ear trick.

That small moment of wonder would eventually shape the course of his entire life.

What started as a childhood interest grew into a passion that led Wes to pursue magic professionally. In 1996, he began his career as a full-time magician, and he hasn't looked back.

Today, Wes performs approximately 400 shows a year, traveling throughout the United States and entertaining audiences at theaters, resorts, festivals, corporate events, schools, and private functions.

His performances range from intimate close-up magic to full-scale, Vegas-style illusion shows featuring audience participation, comedy, live animals, and spectacular illusions.

For Wes, magic has never been just about fooling an audience. It's about creating memories, bringing people together, and making audiences feel that sense of wonder he first experienced as a child.

From the Stage to National Television

Over the years, Wes has built an impressive career both onstage and behind the scenes.

One of his most memorable accomplishments came in 2020 when he appeared on the hit television series Penn & Teller: Fool Us and successfully fooled the legendary duo.

The experience became a major milestone in his career and eventually led to additional opportunities to perform with Penn & Teller in Las Vegas.

Wes has also worked as a consultant and animal trainer for the popular television series The Carbonaro Effect.

His contributions to the magic community extend beyond television appearances.

He has been featured on the covers of The Linking Ring and The Christian Conjurer magazines, served as president of the Magicians Alliance of Eastern States, and received the organization's President's Award.

But despite the recognition, Wes has always remained passionate about performing and connecting with audiences.

Living the MagicLife

Magic isn't simply Wes's profession. It's a lifestyle that he shares with his wife, Natalie, and their children.

Together, the family travels, performs, and experiences the unusual adventures that come with life in show business.

Those adventures became the inspiration for Wes Iseli's MagicLife, a television series that gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a professional magician.

With more than 200 episodes produced, the series has taken audiences along for performances, travel adventures, family moments, and the everyday challenges of making a living in entertainment.

The show has aired on multiple television networks and streaming platforms, bringing the MagicLife experience to viewers around the country.

Wes has also maintained a weekly vlog since 2015, documenting the highs, lows, surprises, and realities of his unusual career.

The MagicLife Podcast Is Born

On July 29, 2020, Wes launched Wes Iseli's MagicLife Podcast as another way to connect with people and share fascinating stories.

The podcast quickly became a platform for conversations with magicians, entertainers, authors, performers, and interesting individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Rather than focusing exclusively on magic tricks and performance techniques, Wes enjoys exploring the personal journeys behind his guests' accomplishments.

How did they get started? What obstacles did they overcome? What inspired them to pursue their dreams? And what have they learned along the way?

These are the kinds of questions that make MagicLife more than just another interview podcast.

Now in its seventh season, the podcast has reached listeners in more than 100 countries, connecting people around the world through stories of creativity, perseverance, and passion.

New episodes are released every Wednesday at 3 PM Eastern.

More Than a Performer

When Wes isn't performing, recording podcasts, or filming television episodes, he's usually working on another magic-related project.

He owns and operates MagiciansMagicShop.com, an online magic shop offering everything from beginner tricks and professional performance material to vintage magic props, rare collectibles, and original creations.

He's also an author, magic instructor, content creator, and lifelong student of the art.

Through his magic shop, educational projects, videos, and online content, Wes continues to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with both aspiring and experienced magicians.

His philosophy is simple: there is always something new to learn, someone interesting to meet, and another adventure waiting around the corner.

Getting to Know Wes

After three decades in the entertainment industry, Wes still approaches magic with the same excitement that first captured his imagination as a child.

Whether he's performing for hundreds of people, discovering an unusual piece of magic history, interviewing a legendary entertainer, or spending time with his family, he continues to embrace the unexpected.

And that's what MagicLife is really all about.

It's not just about the tricks. It's about the stories, the people, the adventures, and the experiences that make life magical.

Be sure to tune in to Wes Iseli's MagicLife Podcast every Wednesday at 3 PM Eastern, and join Wes as he continues exploring the fascinating people and stories behind the world of entertainment.
