Lana has been part of our magic-show world since she was just four days old. Long before she could take an active role in a performance, she was already coming along with us and watching from her car seat.
In episode #8 of Wes Iseli’s MagicLife Podcast, “Lana, Growing Up in Show Business,” we look back at how her involvement in our shows developed as she grew.
Her story begins with being there. Watching Mom and Dad work, spending time around performances, and becoming familiar with the setting came before taking part in the magic herself.
Over time, that role changed. Lana went from watching the show to producing silks—the colorful silk handkerchiefs familiar to magic audiences—and eventually helping with illusions.
That progression gives this episode its personal focus. A child who once watched from a car seat gradually became someone with a part to play in the performance.
For a family that earns its living entertaining audiences, work and family life often share the same space. Traveling to a show is also time spent together. A performance becomes part of the family’s history, and an old recording can preserve a stage of childhood that passes quickly.
Live magic also depends on people working together. Timing, preparation, and knowing your role all matter when a show is in front of an audience. Looking at Lana’s growing involvement offers a family perspective on that shared work.
Originally released in 2020, this early podcast episode is a snapshot of Lana’s childhood and our life as a performing family. For longtime followers, it is a chance to revisit that chapter. For newer listeners, it introduces a personal part of the MagicLife story.
